** District 2 Measure K Application Due Tonight and Disaster Preparedness Day Tomorrow!

Our 2026 District 2 Discretionary Measure K grants application deadline is today! Measure K is a half-cent sales tax renewed by San Mateo County voters in 2016 to address the county’s most critical needs. A small portion of these funds are allocated for district discretionary needs. Thank you County voters for approving this much needed funding source!

The District 2 team created a transparent, equitable, data-driven application process which is now in its fourth year. Through this process, applicants are able to demonstrate how their projects are the best use of public funds to meet our community’s most pressing needs.

This year, we especially hope to fund projects that address urgent gaps due to federal and state impacts on local needs, particularly those of our most vulnerable. Our selection methodology will be informed by our District 2 Strategic Plan priorities (https://us.list-manage.com/xXz5QkFtDPG?e=118eb8f15f&c2id=aa69b3dee4a8d1e79e3540741ed3b703) , which you are encouraged to review. Applications for grants in the amounts of $25,000-$75,000 will be evaluated by the District 2 team using these criteria: * Alignment: How well does this project align with addressing urgent gaps due to federal and state impacts? * Service Area: How does this project meet pressing needs in the County and/or District 2? * Equity: Does this project serve communities with the most need? * Impact: Will this project make a measurable impact in an area of need?

Applications close TODAY, Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:59pm. We plan to notify applicants if they've been awarded in August.
